Our Mission Statement
Working with God in transforming people into passionate followers of Jesus Christ.
Working with God
This means to observe, learn how God works, to listen for His footsteps (in what people do) and look for His fingerprints (in what people say) and to choose to join Him in what He is doing.
Transforming people
We don’t change anybody but God does and we co-operate with His working in someone’s life. We want to help people who are exploring Christianity to discover God in Christ.
We want to help seekers become finders, for sinners to become saints and for saints to be sanctified.
Those who confess Christ as Lord are to be baptised as believers and then discipled or nurtured.
This transformation process continues and we want to assist these new believers to become established believers who will grow into Passionate Followers of Jesus.
Passionate followers of the Lord Jesus
For all members of SDBC to be fully surrendered, totally committed, fully obedient and “passionate followers of the Lord Jesus.”
Passionate Followers reach their friends for Christ, connect with God’s people and grow in the habits of a Christ follower.
They know and use their gifts to serve, and seek to honour God in all of life.
