Every year, Sunnybank District Baptist Church runs Kids Club for families in our local community. We have approximately 200 children attending each year and are often booked out prior to the event. We have a different theme every year. Our main emphases are on having fun, providing a safe place for kids to play, building bridges between SDBC and the local community, and teaching biblical truths to children.

Program Details

Each day is divided into 4 parts:

  • Morning Program (singing, daily Bible story and Memory Verse)
  • Rotational Activities (craft, games, gym and morning tea)
  • "Trekka Time" (year level groups to reinforce memory verse and Bible story through games and activities.)
  • Singing and drama

Registrations

PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO MORE VACANCIES FOR KIDS’ CLUB THIS YEAR. NO NEW REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN.

  • Registration tables open at 8.20am.
  • Every child must be checked in at the registration tables on Monday morning whether you have paid for them or not.
  • Payment may be made by cash (exact amount appreciated), cheque (to Sunnybank District Baptist Church), or EFTPOS.
  • Each family registered will be given a CD of the program’s songs, a song booklet, and an invitation to the Friday night concert.

Dress-up theme days

This is optional and it is emphasised that this should be of minimal expense and time in preparation to you, the parents. There are no prizes, just a clap from everyone for participating.

  • Tuesday is “All One Colour Day”. (eg. dress in all one colour as far as possible.)
  • Wednesday is “Safari Day” (eg. Safari animals or creatures, ROAR! theme animals, camouflage or khaki coloured clothing.)
  • Thursday is “Crazy Hair Day”. (eg. 5 pigtails.)
  • Friday is “Kids Club Character day” (eg. Any character – from a Bible story, an animal, from the Drama or anyone who has appeared on stage in Morning Program.)

Parents’ invitation

  • You are welcome to come at 12.00pm for a cuppa and biscuit, browse the Koorong bookstall, and watch the daily Drama episode before home time at 12.30pm.
  • You are invited to watch the Gym Display performed by members of Robertson Gymnastics Club to be held on Wednesday 3 July at 11.30am
  • Each family registered will be given an inviation to the Friday night concert.

General information

Children’s Clothing

  • Clothing needs to be suitable for craft activities which may involve glue or paint.
  • Shoes and bulky jackets are removed for gym activities.
  • Hats, bags and water bottles are not needed except for bags to carry medication as mentioned above.
  • Each child will be receiving a “Watch for God” wristband on the first day of the program. It is hoped the children will keep it on for the entire week.

Arriving and Leaving

  • Please escort your children through the car park to the check-in area.
  • Each morning, the children need to find their year level leader to receive their name tag and have their name marked off the roll.
  • Doors open at 8.50am.
  • Program finishes at 12.30.
  • Prompt collection of children from the auditorium is appreciated to enable leaders and helpers to debrief and prepare for the following day. Please note younger siblings must not be left in the care of older siblings who are leaders or helpers prior to 8.50am or after 12.30pm.
  • No children are permitted to leave the auditorium and walk to the car park alone. They must be accompanied by an adult.

Medications

  • If your child has medication they may need to take (eg. Epipen, asthma inhaler), it is preferable it is carried by your child in a secure, hands-free bag. Alternatively, it will need to be given to a designated leader of your child’s year group on arrival at Kids’ Club for them to carry when moving to different activities, and then collected from them at the finish.
